Trinity CertTESOL places a strong emphasis on reflective practice and developing your own teaching style, rather than following a prescriptive methodology. Considerations

The CertTESOL is less widely known outside Europe and the UK than the CELTA. Considerations

The ITTT 120-Hour course is not Ofqual-regulated and sits at Level 4, not Level 5. There’s no assessed teaching practice component in the online version. While sufficient for entry-level and online teaching roles, it will not satisfy employers who require a Level 5 qualification, including most top-tier language schools and British Council centres.

4. ACT Level 5 Certificate in TEFL (Focus Awards)

The Focus Awards Level 5 Certificate in TEFL, delivered by the Asian College of Teachers, is an Ofqual-regulated qualification with a particularly strong presence in India and Southeast Asia.

Considerations

At $1,100 / ₹90,000, it’s a significant investment, comparable to some Trinity CertTESOL courses. The entry requirements are notably lower than CELTA or CertTESOL, with no C1 English proficiency check or interview. Considerations

Unlike the CELTA and Trinity CertTESOL, there is no assessed teaching practice with real learners.
