Plagiarism is defined as the practice of taking someone else’s work or ideas and presenting it as your own without appropriate credit. During your TEFL course, it is imperative to write answers in your own words or accurately credit your quote source. A copy of the TEFL Institute of Ireland Plagiarism Policy will be present in the learning portal of any course where open-ended questions are part of the assessment.

The TEFL Institute Plagiarism Policy

If you are completing a level 5 qualification, it is required to provide references during your assessments. Academic references acknowledge your source, in the body of your work. A copy of the Guide to Academic Referencing will be present in the learning portal of any course where open-ended questions are part of the assessment.

Guide to Academic Referencing

As Level 5 courses require learners to attain a 100% pass mark all coursework will be reviewed by the TEFL Institute’s academic team upon successful completion of each module on the learning platform. A reassessment may be needed if a response does not fulfill the requirements of the question. All written coursework will be assessed and returned to the student with the assessment decision, feedback and reassessment questions where necessary.

The TEFL Institute’s students are awarded three separate attempts for the reassessment process following initial coursework completion. Your reassessment answers will be collected through an online form. If this form is attempted or submitted more than once, only the most recent submission will be reviewed by the assessment team. This will be clear through the timestamp of the submission. We do not accept any other type of reassessment submission except for the official Google form sent by your assessor. This includes Word and PDF documents.

Students will receive their first reassessment free of charge as per the TEFL Institute’s assessment policy.

If a second and third reassessment is needed, a fee of €25 will be charged for each additional re-assessment.

Upon failing all three separate opportunities for reassessment, students will officially be recorded as a fail grade on their TEFL course. Reassessment fees are non-refundable. The assessment process/waiting time for your course review takes between 8-12 weeks upon completion.

Students are allowed to request a reassessment extension of 10 working days under exceptional circumstances. Any additional reassessment extensions will incur a fee of €25. Please note that should any changes be implemented to the assessment process employed by the TEFL Institute from the time your original assessment review took place and the time of your reassessment submission, that you will be required to comply with these changes to validate your qualification.

Updates to the assessment process are put in place to ensure the criteria and standards of this qualification as set by the awarding organizations, Ofqual and TQUK are adhered to by each learner.

A personalised and unique digital TEFL certificate (PDF format) will be generated and available to download on successful completion of any of your courses. In the case of the 180 hour Ofqual-regulated TEFL Course you will have access to a letter stating that the coursework is completed and your coursework is now being reviewed by the academic team before it can be passed with TQUK to release your official Ofqual certificate. In order to obtain this Ofqual certificate you will have to purchase the license for the E certificate which cost an additional €48.

On completion of your 180 hour TEFL course, your assessments will be reviewed by our assessor. You may be asked to reattempt some questions.

The TEFL Institute can also provide a printed hard-copy certificate when you have successfully passed your course. It is printed and delivered worldwide from €25. It will be issued to the address requested by the customer at the time of ordering. Before ordering, confirm your name has the correct spelling. The name appearing on your TEFL certificate should match that of your passport, this is important when applying for a visa to work abroad.

The TEFL Institute is not responsible for any errors in the spelling or presentation of your name on hard copy certificates. Should you require a replacement certificate due to an error regarding your name, you will be charged for a replacement certificate. If you supply an incorrect shipping address you will be charged for any duplicate certificates required. The TEFL Institute branded certificates are issued once per week from our Head Office in Ireland and unless otherwise arranged, mailed by standard post.

In the case of the 180 hour Ofqual-regulated TEFL certificate, The TEFL Institute requires the customer’s date of birth to be able to order the digital certificate from Training Qualifications UK (TQUK). If you supply an incorrect name, you will be charged for obtaining a duplicate certificate. From time to time, as part of quality checks, some student coursework will be sampled for internal quality assurance. This is critical to maintaining our committed training standards.

The TEFL Institute cannot be held liable for a certificate that goes missing in the post. After the recommended time for arrival has passed, a replacement certificate should be ordered. Should a certificate be lost, a suitable claim should be made against the postage service, where applicable.
