12 months teaching placement – 10 spaces remaining.

Overview

Teaching positions are in public schools, and placement locations vary from small towns to large cities throughout Korea including Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Incheon, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju.

Typically the school day starts at 8.40am, finishing by 4.40pm Monday to Friday.

Through 22 hours of face-to-face teaching in school classroom settings each week, you will be aiming to improve your students’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

Any support you need for activity planning will be on hand from your curriculum, Korean co-teacher and colleagues.

While applicants can state a preference for age group and placement location it depends upon availability and suitability. Friends are also welcome to apply, placement together depends on availability.

What’s required before applying?

Native English speaker
Bachelor’s degree (obtained in a native English speaking country)
TEFL qualified (minimum 120 hours)
In good mental and physical health
Have a passport from USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa
Up to 61 years old (if you are older than 45, speak with an advisor)
Clean police record

What do I need to organise?

International flights: You’ll need return flights (can be two one-way flights)
Police check: You’ll need a clean national criminal record
Health check: You’ll need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to budget US $50 for a medical exam in Korea
Spending money for your first month plus excursions etc.
Visa cost: You’ll have support to obtain your E2 visa

Locations

After you settle in, you will spend your teaching placement in one our stunning nationwide placements including small towns to large cities: Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Incheon, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju.

I really enjoyed advancing my learning with TEFL. They provide fantastic courses suitable for whatever your needs maybe but I highly recommend the 180 Hour course especially! Would also like to thank all my tutors & of course Michelle Benson for the fantastic online classroom course! She really does make it very enjoyable & is a great tutor! I recently completed the 30-Hour Teaching Business English Course, and I learned so many interesting and useful things about how to plan, prepare, and create effective lessons.The course provides lots of valuable PDFs, videos, and links that allow you to explore the topics in greater depth and continue learning even after completing the course.I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to expand their knowledge, develop their teaching skills, and strengthen their potential as a Business English teacher!I also completed their “Using Generative AI in TEFL” course, which was very useful, especially because they recommended many AI teaching apps and websites that I had never heard of before.And when it comes to AI, the rule is always the same: create a good, well-written prompt and then refine it as necessary!

Really good course that you can complete in your own time! I found it very manageable and my Tutor marked all work very quickly! Within 1 day! Also, feedback is really detailed so if you do have any corrections to make, it is clear where you need to look (modules etc.) To fix it.Would recommend TEFL Institute to anyone interested in doing a TEFL course :)
