What’s required before applying?
- Passport holder from one of the following countries: USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Ireland, South Africa or New Zealand (contact an advisor if you're a non-native English speaker)
- South African applicants are required to provide 10 years' proof of schooling in English Instruction (grade 7 and onwards)
- Bachelor's degree from native-English speaking country (official hardcopy is essential)
- 120-hour TEFL certificate (included)
- Criminal background check (from all countries lived in over 18)
- Be aged between 21 - 35 (contact an advisor if you're older)
- Clean bill of health for in-country medical check (inform an advisor of any conditions, treatments, or medication before booking)
- Open-minded, enthusiastic, and flexible on preferences
What do I need to organize?
- Legalisation of bachelor's degree. Costs may vary.
- Visa application. Cost varies by country.
- Return flights are a must. Booking recommended after visa approval.
- Spending money until your first pay check.
- Proof of clean criminal record within 6 months.
- Vaccines are recommended. Consult your GP or local travel clinic for costs.
- Comprehensive travel and medical insurance are recommended. Consult your current provider or a comparison site for costs.

Your trip Itinerary
Travel to Incheon airport (ICN) where you will take a short taxi ride to your orientation hotel.
Upon your arrival at the school, an induction is organised to help you settle into your school. You will receive important information about school policies, procedures, and resources available to you. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to review lesson plans and curriculum expectations to ensure a smooth transition into your teaching role, as well as meet your fellow teachers.
Private schools, also known as Hagwons, have fewer classes and usually offer after-school activities in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
Your students will be largely young elementary and primary school students with a mixed level of English ability, providing you with a fantastic first-time teaching experience. During your 40-hour work week, you can expect to spend roughly 30 hours on hands-on teaching, allowing you time to develop lessons based on the in-house curriculum. Your main goal will be to help your eager pupils gain confidence as they improve their English skills through conversational English practice.
You’ll get the opportunity to seek assistance from local educators, but don’t forget to implement your own creative abilities in the classroom; this is your moment to shine!

On top of your free time exploring while teaching English in South Korea, you can take part in two cultural orientations throughout the year. These classes and excursions will take place over three consecutive weekends.

The rent-free accommodation you will live in is your typical Asian-style accommodation, complete with a kitchenette, and you get it all to yourself! The internet in South Korea is one of the fastest in the world, and relatively cheap.

Approximately 20 -30 teaching hours per week but 40 hour work weeks and 5 days a week. If you are
required to work an extra day, that will be considered overtime. You will be required to lesson plan on
the school’s property. Your shifts and time of days depends on the age group you are teaching as well
as the type of school you end up in.
