Successful completion of the module gives you everything you could need to use different tools and ideas for the sake of growth in your learners. Accreditation
Our Level 5 TEFL Diploma is accredited and regulated by Highfields Qualifications. They are a regulatory body that works in the UK and are overseen by Ofqual. The qualification is meant for people who need to get a TEFL qualification to formalise their experience, but also for those people who do not have any experience teaching in any setting and want to build a brand-new
Thanks to this qualification, you get access to a certificate which is recognised across the globe. It is a tool that you can use to work online from your home in Canada or anywhere in the world. You can apply for jobs and visas with the qualifications we offer, so it is a flexible certification. If you want to see more about what Highfield does, check out the Highfield Level 5 Certificate in Teaching as a Foreign Language (TEFL) or visit the Ofqual website.
The Accreditation Council for Distance Learning:
The Accreditation Council for Distance Learning is a specific regulatory body which focuses on distance learning and supporting people in that area. They hold providers like us to a high standard and make sure that learners are supported no matter what. Their accreditation scheme has worldwide recognition and acclaim, which is why we’re pleased to report we’re in the register – our accreditation number is 2854-2540.
The Vital Consular is slightly different from a normal accreditation and works more as a verification seal. The TEFL Institute is pleased to be a recognised TEFL provider worldwide, and any of the courses we offer can be used to get verification in another country. However, some providers like ourselves apply for the Vital Consular, which is a special verification scheme that sees your qualifications authenticated by the UK Government. This specific verification of your qualifications will help them to take you even further.
Verification is important if you want to go somewhere like China or Vietnam. These places will ask for documents which have been verified and approved by a recognised body. If you don’t have a certification that has approval for this, it won’t be accepted, and this can slow down your application for a permit or visa. The UK government, being recognised in the way they are, will help a lot with the authenticity of your documents.
We’re a provider with worldwide acclaim, so our team works tirelessly to make a list of courses that are accredited and regulated by official bodies, giving you trust in what we do. We have a reputation for producing amazing teachers.
ODLQC:
The Open and Distance Learning Quality Council was first founded in 1969 and has evolved over the years to become one of the top regulatory bodies in the US. Their main mission is to find and identify quality education providers and ensure that they maintain their standards through a strict accreditation process. We’re pleased to be able to say that we meet their expectations and work hard to remain accredited.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is TEFL?
TEFL is an acronym for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Your goal as a TEFL teacher is to make sure that TEFL students have the skills and confidence needed to talk, write and speak in English by themselves – no translation tools required.
The good news is that you do not have to speak another language if you want to be able to start a career as a TEFL teacher. However, you will need to complete one of our courses if you want to be able to get all the know-how and methods for being a great teacher. You can complete any of the courses we offer, and they will all help you when it comes to becoming a qualified TEFL teacher. Our courses provide you with the tools necessary to excel in both an online environment and in a traditional classroom.
Who can do a TEFL course?
The great thing about being a new TEFL teacher is that anyone can do it. There are no restrictions when it comes to teaching English as a foreign language, which is helpful for anyone who wants to get involved. We recommend that you’re comfortable with the idea of getting up and teaching young people and adults, but we also help prepare you for this with the help of training.
What can I do with my TEFL certificate?
Once you have become qualified as an English teacher, you can use your skills to go anywhere and do whatever you want. We offer qualifications recognized globally so you can teach abroad or online. You may be restricted in a few areas by things like needing a degree, but for the most part, you’re free to do whatever you please.
What does Level 5 mean?
The Level 5 qualification helps you understand how complex the course is. A Level 5 course equals a CELTA and Trinity Cert TESOL course.
Foundation Degree: Equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor’s degree. It typically involves practical and academic training and is often focused on a specific profession or field.
In the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), Level 5 generally corresponds to post-secondary education, which may include both academic and vocational pathways. Similarly, in other countries like Australia or Canada, a Level 5 qualification may align with a diploma or an associate degree.
What does regulated mean?
If your qualification has been regulated, that means it has been recognized by an authority like the government. It will be featured on the Ofqual Register for Regulated Qualifications.
What is the difference between the 120-hour TEFL course and the 180-hour level 5 TEFL course?
Either one of these courses is a primary certification for a TEFL teacher. However, they’re also different to one another, which means that you’ll need to choose a course based on the career path you want to take.
The 180-hour course is the Level 5 qualification we’ve been talking about all this time. It is the most advanced of the two and will take longer but give you access to better jobs. Meanwhile, the 120-hour course is what we would call a fast-track program – it will take less time but not be as desired.
How are TEFL courses laid out?
Our TEFL courses are meant to be easy to complete and are highly interactive. You’ll find that they are made up of different media like videos, audio files and written content. You complete the course at your own speed. Apart from the core training, which is only for specific certifications and will be set at fixed intervals, you can work at your own speed and pace.
There are ten different modules in the Level 5 TEFL Diploma. At the end of each module, you’ll be given a test to measure your progress and find out how well you’re doing. You’ll need a 100% pass mark to complete the course.
Tell me about the correction/ assessment processes
All the online tests we offer are automatically graded and corrected, with the notable exception of the 180-hour course.
During your 180-hour certification, you will get both multiple-choice and open-ended questions you will need to answer. Multiple-choice questions are graded automatically, but open-ended questions aren’t. You’ll need to finish three modules before the assessment team will check your answers and provide you with feedback. If there are any questions that they feel you have not answered properly, you will be asked to complete them again.
