12 months teaching placement – 10 spaces remaining.

Overview

Teaching positions are in public schools, and placement locations vary from small towns to large cities throughout Korea including Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Incheon, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju.

Typically the school day starts at 8.40am, finishing by 4.40pm Monday to Friday.

Through 22 hours of face-to-face teaching in school classroom settings each week, you will be aiming to improve your students’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

Any support you need for activity planning will be on hand from your curriculum, Korean co-teacher and colleagues.

While applicants can state a preference for age group and placement location it depends upon availability and suitability. Friends are also welcome to apply, placement together depends on availability.

What’s required before applying?

Native English speaker
Bachelor’s degree (obtained in a native English speaking country)
TEFL qualified (minimum 120 hours)
In good mental and physical health
Have a passport from USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa
Up to 61 years old (if you are older than 45, speak with an advisor)
Clean police record

What do I need to organise?

International flights: You’ll need return flights (can be two one-way flights)
Police check: You’ll need a clean national criminal record
Health check: You’ll need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to budget US $50 for a medical exam in Korea
Spending money for your first month plus excursions etc.
Visa cost: You’ll have support to obtain your E2 visa

Locations

After you settle in, you will spend your teaching placement in one our stunning nationwide placements including small towns to large cities: Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Incheon, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju.

I did the 10-hour virtual course with Michelle and really enjoyed it. She was super engaging and made the time fly. Her energy kept the group going, and she handled the class really well. We managed to cover all the key points and still had time to try out our own teaching practice and talk about our plans for our career within TEFL. This was my first time participating in an online classroom setting. I expected there to be connection issues, but fortunately there were none. Clear sound, great interaction amongst fellow classmates and the host/teacher Michelle K. was really very good. Personally I think she is excellent at what she does, her tone of voice, how comfortable she made me feel as a student of TEFL, and her own experiences shared with us. I found this extremely useful.
